ok folks, your first freebie download, and some of you may already have this on limited edition 12" vinyl (Six Degrees, 2000, with Orb and Coldcut remixes) - and be grateful you do, I understand they're changing hands for silly money... this is yet another AFD take on the infamous "Scarborough Fair", this time twisted into some kind of distinctly unsettling dubbed-out jazz territory not dissimilar to bits of Miles Davis's 'Bitches Brew', apparently- (as was explained to me in great detail by an unknown punter at some Big Chill, and thank you, sir, for that). It's definitely the weirdest of the 3 versions I've done, and quite possibly the oddest cover of the old standard you'll ever hear. Those of you only familiar with "Life before Land" may have a bit of a shock coming... |
